Posvätná birma - tieto mačky sú často považované za chrámové zvieratá z Barmy.

Toto kúzelné plemeno má typické znaky na jeho kožúšku, ktoré spolu s bielymi ponožkami na tlapkách dali vzniknúť pôvabnej legende.

Mačka, ktorá keď vycítila,že chrámový kňaz zomiera, prišla k nemu a jemne položila tlapky na jeho slabé telo, aby mu poskytla pre posledné chvíle jeho života spoločnosť.

Preto jej konce tlapiek získali tú najčistejšiu farbu - bielu. Traduje sa, že od vtedy každú mačku tohto plemena odprevádza na jej poslednej ceste do neba kňaz.

Birmy sú veľmi múdre a bystré mačičky polodlhej srsti, ktorá však nie je vôbec náročná na úpravu. Sú typické svojimy nádhernými zafírovo modrými očami a odznakmi.

Samozrejme nesmú chýbať pre toto plemeno charakteristické biele ponožky, nepresahujúce na predných tlapkách cez ich hornú časť.

Na zadných tlapkách musia byť tieto ponožky aj s ostruhami, ktoré tvoria obrátený znak písmena V. Mali by byť symetrické a spĺňať štandart.

Birmy sú odchovávané v mnohých farebných varietách, či už v plnej farbe v odznakoch, alebo i s kresbou v odznakoch.

Sú ideálnymi spoločníčkami, pre ich milú a oddanú povahu vhodné i k deťom. Taktiež sa bezproblémovo znášajú s ostatnými zvieratami.

Sacred birma – these cats are quite often considered to be the temple cats of Barma.

This charming breed has typical signs on its fur which, along with it‘s white „socks“ on paws, took the role to create the former legend.

The cat put it’s paws on a dying priest when she felt that he is dying, to soften up his departing. Because of this, as the folk says, the cat’s paws got the most cleanest colour of all – white. The legend also says, that because of the acts the cats were doing, a priest now accompanies the cat on it’s final journey to the afterlife.

Birmans are very wise and clever cats with mid-long fur, which is not hard to keep clean and soft. They are typical for their eyes with bright blue colour and spots, or signs, on it’s fur  and of course, the white socks (which do not exceed the top of the paws), so characteristic for this breed. On their back paws, the socks must be with griffes, which form a reversed „V“. They should be symetric and maintain the standard.

Birmans are breeded in many colour variations, either full-colour with signs or painted with signs.

They are ideal companions and for their nice and dedicated personality also for small children. They also like other animals in the household as well!
